Ball joint front ends Pics

These are a couple of adjustable front ends I have just finished, the top one is narrowed 35mm each side, and has the weld in Empi adjusters.

The middle on is narrowed 20mm each side and uses cheap Avis adjusters from Moore parts in the US, this one is my car now, very hard to adjust to the right height, don't know if I will use them again, but the adjustment is in a much better place than the Berg ones, (don't point down)

The bottom one is stock width, raised shock towers with the Berg Avis adjusters, (they are the best) it just came out of my car, I will have it 4 sale at the shoot out tomorrow.

Dave

As you know - i am a strut person and dont understand

Can you give a close up of each type

I dont understand
= how the weld ones go in if you dont cut the beam
= how the others go in if they are not weld in???

Sorry - easier to bolt on a set of struts!

Dave, when you put in the avis adjusters what do you do about the notches in the beams that stop the torsion bars from rotating in stock form?I found them to be a total pain in the arse.Is there an easy way to deal with these?:beer

You just heat the notch up red hot and belt the centre down with an old rear Beetle tortion bar, the turn the beam over and belt it back the other way, and do this a few times, until it smooths the notches over and allows the center to move freely.

So you put the rear bar down the centre of the tubes and belt either way ,is this right?I ground the @^*%$ out of the notches then welded a capping plate over the top.yours sound a lot better.:blah
