I'm having a popping gear box now for first gear and looking to get it machined, however its a trouble doing such thing as I gota pull the engine out and get the Gear Box Machined & no car to drive during that time, if I'm looking at a second hand one how much I will be paying for a good one ?

Also its a 59 beetle with 1600 what sort of gear box will I be looking at ? what year beetle ? from wreckers?
