I was about to change the spring on my super and found out that on of the thread on the top of the strut is worn out and the nut is just turning on
its place (you know what I mean?) I can't remove ONE NUT so I can't lower my super. :cussing
It's the one next to the wall so I can't cut it. Any suggestion?
buy a new car....
no seriouslu i hsve no ideaorry to get ur hopes up
are you sure it's not simply that the strut itself is turning? be unusual for the big nut to be stripped, especially if it hasn't launched the spring out under the guard as soon as you have it jacked up...
Normally there is a hex head in the strut top that allen key will go in or a flat blade in the end that can be gripped with vice grip. If you are
putting in new inserts, and the old ones don’t matter, you could also cut the shaft with a grinder or hold it with a set of vice grips. One other
option is to use a rattle gun.
The thread should not be stripped, as getting that amount of load into it without the shaft spinning will be hard. But if it is, use the cut method
above then either get a new strut top of use other methods to get the strut top off.
use a 1/2inch drive "rattle gun"

Rattle gun = impact wrench. They're the tools they use to put your wheel nuts on too tight!
Widely available in tool shops and hardware shops. The most common sort also need an air compressor. I have just seen models that run off 12v but
don't know anything about them.
àhhh.... i konw what you mean
happened to mine
IF you look under neath you will find the spot weld has broken from the strut.
No drama - just take the wheel off and get some one to hold it from inside the guard with pliers/vice grips and take off as normal.
Once out - weld back in place.
rattle gun is those air driven spanner guns they use in tyre shops
