Can ay body shed some light on my situation

I have installed a T4 2.0 ltr into my '61 T2 pick up.
The T4 is a L-jectronic GD engine code??? (Im sure it is, it has an air flow meter, cold start injector but no O2 sensor and only has points ignition?) and it will start briefly then stop and it will only run on a few cylinders also.
You can get it to run, continuously on one cylinder but only if you have the throttle wooded.
The engine has been sitting for 2 years, I will admit, and I am told that it does run nice.
