EGO sensor

G'day just wondering where you would put an ego sensor on a bug as I was planning on getting something like this
Digital Fuel Mixture Display Kit for Cars
to help with tuning, would it be possible to place the ego after the muffler as I have a dodgy set of economy extractors

Thanks,
Justin

Have you done a search? I might be wrong, but I thought this had been covered. As I recall, the main issue is getting the sensor up to operating temp. Some rely on the exhaust whereas others have heating elements built in.

The standard EGO sensor is termed a 'narrow band' sensor, they operate in only a very narrow band of air/fuel ratio's, and are not particularly useful in tuning, information regarding wide band sensors and their sale can be found at http://www.techedge.com.au/
hope this helps, you will also find a forum dedicated to these wide band sensors and digital readouts
