Fibreglass Help
J&SBlue - January 20th, 2003 at 10:47 AM

I had a small accident on the weekend with my buggy. The attached picture shows what happens when fibreglass meets steel fencing rails. :( :cussing

I have done some small fibreglass repairs before but am not sure about tackling this one. On a J&S this section is pretty weak and I need it to be attached correctly. Does anyone know of a good fibreglasser in the Sydney area. I live in West Ryde so somewhere around there would be great.

I will have a look in the yellow pages but a recommendation is always a good start.

Thanks,
Mark.

Sad to see you had a little mishap Mark.

I can't really help you on anyone in Sydney but while looking through the yellowpages make sure you go through the boat repairs (or Similar) section as they may be able to help to. They would do bulk glassing all the time, materials would be cheap and they may enjoy doing somthing different for a day or two.

Hi Mark,
Sad to see the damage mate, see you been led astray by Randel.
More details where and how ??

I don,t know any fiberglassers but if you find one please post it for future reference.

What about an invite next time.

Brian

I decided to have a go at fixing my broken buggy myself. I got advice from a couple of different people (one being one of the guys who used to work for J&S as a fibreglasser) and went from there. It looks better in the picture than real life as I still have a bit of shaping to do but it has survived our latest trip to Minnie Waters this last weekend so that was a good start.
Hopefully when it is painted it will still look ok and wont be too noticable that it has been smashed off.

PS. For all those that did not go to Minnie Waters on the weekend, you missed out on a lot of fun !!:bounce:bounce

there you go! thats why they made fibreglass even the dummies can do it and if you get it wrong sand it off and do it again ..........
Good Job Mark
