I have a 1600TP with the standard solex carby (34pct I think?). Have a bit of a flat spot (so whats new).
My question - I have a chance to buy a 40mm DCN Webber and fit it on - Good idea?. How much better will it be? I assume I amy need to rejet for the
1600, are they readily avaialable.
personally i think that 40mm is too big for a 1600tp but ive never run one. i prefer the 32/36 twin barrel progressive webber as pictured here

it runs good goes like a cut cat
Depends on how cheap.
Are you running a 009??
A NEW 34 pict and a SVDA dizzy will set you back near on $500
Personally i agree with Barls, and like the Prog. Easier to jet and more available. Just need small hands to tune the f@cker!
If you can pick it up for under a $100 - why not.
Otherwise get a 30 pict and a conversion plate
you dont need small hands if you get the one of a lada niva as the adjustment is at the front or a new one but thats about $600 new
Have a look on ebay. There're a few well priced single carb kits on there at the moment
for starters just run a kit thru the carby, cheapest option . As it could just be the pump jet diaphram thats stuffed . Unless the motors modified
its easier to stick with the stock carb.
Ohh check for vacumm leaks.
