How the hell do you get the drivers window out of a 74 Kombi, do I have to take all the rubbers and 1/4 window out aswell, What a nightmare!!!

The rubbers are quite old and cracked, If I remove them garenteed I will need new ones. Are window rubbers hard to get a hold of and to replace? BTW I'm a complete DIY novice.
