I need to rebuild my 2lt fuel injected engine and I don't want to rush it cause I haven't done it before.I have been offered a kombi for $500 that has a 2lt duel carb engine (condition unknown,haven't sighted yet).If it's a goer:,can I hook this engine up to the fuel inection system? Are the heads the same?Isn't there a head temp sender in the fuel inj head etc?any assistance would be appreciated.

The idea of swapping the engines over appeals to me as it gets me back on the road and I can take my time with the rebuild and learn as I go.

I'd assume that on your rebuild you'd buy new or recon heads and so fact the donor motor was dual carbs should not matter. I think that the head temp guage is the only main difference but I'm sure others will know.
