hey i heard ur selling ur motor is that true?

VWFOOL - December 22nd, 2004 at 12:02 AM

and this stuff will work ok on factory beetle vinyl seats ok?

vw54 - December 22nd, 2004 at 05:37 AM

yep make sure you wash the item down good, apply light coats.

It will stick to your seats but will wear off quicker than if it was on a door trim or similar

Steves motor has been sold.

I've used VHT brand vinyl dye. It's good stuff and works well although I didn't put it on seats. Make sure you get satin not gloss.

whys that?

Well gloss would look kinda funny on seats/general interior (my opinion only) and I'm pretty sure the shiny finish wouldn't last long on stuff that gets touched.

I've just done my sunvisors and rearview mirror, both turned out well well satin finish. Next thing is the headliner, hope it works as well as the rest.

can u use vinyl spary on a cloth headliner? if not wat would i use to change the colour of my healdiner/

It's supposed to work on cloth and even carpet but I havn't tried it. Probably best to test it on something similar first.

vw54 - December 22nd, 2004 at 07:54 PM

No i dont think it will work as the cloth is porus... n the paint will soak through.... it needs a base firm to adhere to.

maybe theres a carpet paint by VHT

Steve's right on the money. Good advice, also you'll find it's not the best product in high use area's.

Still good stuff for the $.
