As the topic sugests Ryan was wondering if yo can buy Karman ghia fiberglass body kits, he has some ideas about modifying one but doesnt want to
butcher a real one as we know there arent that many good ones around.
Any one know about it
Danielle and Ryan
I've only ever seen one Ghia with a fibreglass body kit. I think the front was a knock off a 911 bumper, as was the rear, with the rear guards pumped
along with 911 headlights. Was white in colour and was around in the late '80's. I know the car is still around but I don't think they're on the
forum. Was NSW rego'd. There is nothing available in Oz for a Ghia that is off the shelf - it's all personalised.
Squiz....
i think she means an actual full fiber-glass replica body.. am i right?
a KG is my dream car
such a sexy shape...
yep thats right jo_tas. lol you think like me
AS far as I know there is only one company that makes these, and they are in the UK. I'm not even sure if they are still in business, as I think they
moved on to make Porsche 550 kits. Here is a pic of one:-

Ryan here, CBF bothered logging over to my nick
yeah, well I know a KG is basically a bettle floorpan and running gear, but with a much sexier body designed more for style than practicality
and, funnily enough, I would like to build a KG up, but if I found an original, my conscience would prevent me cutting and modifying, and would
probably even start taking any mods back to original.
but, I would have no issues getting a old beetle floorpan from under a rusted out body, fitting a 'glass imitation of a KG body, and fitting probably
a rotary of some kind, big wheels etc. which even I know would be sacrelidge to a real KG.
hence, wondering if anyone made 'repro' KG bodys that could be fitted to beetle floorpans (probably with IRS and balljoint beam front end)
Thats what this kit is! It bolt onto a beetle floorpan.
The company still exists:-
