Has anyone thought about putting power steering in a splitty? I just wondered if its possible, and how you might do it. I'd be using a Type 1
motor!

Errr.....why?? Try pumping your tyres up??? They are easy to steer if everything is OK.You would probably have large compliancing issues anyway..:jesus
My wife Suzi asked if it could be done! I didnt like the idea of messing around with the steering. Maybe I'll just get the steering box rebuilt.
Cheers

you need to pump up front tyres to 60psi & line reaer end of vehicle with heaps of lead, tell Suzi it now has power steering & then over a few
months gradually remove lead & lower tyre pressures, worked for me.
seriously ther are about 3 different types of power steering, the best option probably a rack & pinion type setup, but getting the column back to
the rack through uni joints would be a job
a good pump to use id the PBR reservoir /pump fitted to heaps of Volvos & XD Falcons etc, I would hat e to think of the cost of the hoses,
there are now quite a few forward control rear drive vehicles with Power steer, I would be looking at how they get the column back to the rack, but no
matter what you do it would be horrific expensive
