IRS/Strut suspension mods
71superbug - January 5th, 2005 at 03:08 AM

Hey, i am going to hopefully in the sometime near future delve myself into the project of the 13bt.

however. with suspension mods, are there many places over here that would do a good suspension upgrade for my IRS/Strut pan?

most of the good suspension setups seem to come from germany and places of the like. this option can be quite pricey.

Any help appreciated.

This is what Jak, Barry, Paul (?), GL1972 etc are all using and Steve's ones came from Vintage but are the equivalent.

Recon the steering box and fit urethane bushes- you won't believe the difference

yep new bushes, thoughout, spend some money on some good shocks (koni) and then also tyres!!! get some 5.5inch wide or bigger rims and spend some money on soem good tires. also instead of adjustable front struts king springs make (to order, not a standard line) lowered stiffer front springs. about $200 a pair.

get some bigger rear torsion bars as well. this will help stop squating and body roll. yep urethane bushes.

what tranny are you using? If it is the stock setup the mounting will need to be reinforced.

or go a rear torsion bar, it depends on the type of driving you want o do, and how confortable.

with a race seat and stiff front end, it screws my back after 1.5hrs :(
