hook loop, welded on the front right of the front end in my 71 type 3 square....i think its orig....prolly has a use...i am unsure..
can anyoone tell me what it is actually there for? and then clarify if i am cool to cut it off...as i want to lower the t3...but tthis is inhibiting me of my rightful extra 20mm...and i want it

It is just a tow point, no other use.

Holy crap, I just looked at mine and if you need to cut it off for clearance you must be going really low, it only sticks out about 20mm past the beam!!!

being a youth..i got 185x50's on the vw 14x6 rims...the wheels are small...
and i want to dump it...i will eventually put 60's or 65's back on...but for now...i like how it looks...ruins the mileage...speedo is out by 20 k's...but it reallly looks cool
even better when lowered..
does that mean i can cut it off?

hey man i cut mine off all it does it bottom on everything, especially on sydney roads. i take it you are going as low as Nev...

Just hope You don't need to be towed anywhere....
