Shifters

Hey all,

Am looking at changing the shifter in my bug. Is currently the standard shifter but have seen those Empi shifters and thought they might be the go.

Anyone know a ball park price or any info. I have seen several types, one looks like a Tbar and the other has a ring style pull..

Any suggestion appreciated.

very happy with the scat in my bus.
still waiting to fit the Berg in my beetle.
had no drama with the empi in the squareback.

I wouldn't be blaming the shifter for any dickhead that goes from 1st to 3rd!

I have an Empi chepo shifter in my beetle, it is great, and one in my twin cab, it fixed the poor shifting with the original worn shifter.

A mate has a Scat shifter in his bug and it has given him lots of trouble, shifts 1st to 4th when shifting quickly, he has adjusted and adjusted and it still does it.
Its ok when just driving around town but no good for drags, he shifted 1st to 3rd with it, 3 runs in a row at the Nationals one year!! great way to waist you entry fee!!

I actually run a empi shifter and swapped all moving joints with rose joints this actually stiffen the shifter and gear changes more precise and strong as.The shifter runs in a race car where it cops a cainning.JVLRacing
