Help with t3 breather
Dannyboy - January 10th, 2005 at 10:46 PM

Looks like the oil breather has been leaking so i have a replacement seal. How do i get the breather box off to change the seal? I've taken the cap off and it looks like you need a special tool to undone what clamps it down?????

Any ideas??

Cheers Dan:o

:oyeah, but its rough.... get a piece of flat bar (The right size to go between the grooves) and a shifter:o

There is a gland nut in the bottom. Look straight down the hole at the area where it narrows. Once you have cleaned out all the gunk you shoulkd be able to see two small slots opposite each other. There is probably a special tool for doing this, but like Danny said if you can get hold of some flat bar of the right width and thickness it would do the job. It is a royal pain in the arse to undo. You may need to place a screw driver in one of the slots and give it a few whacks with a hammer to help jar it loose.

Yes, Like Desert Moose, I used a piece of the right sized flat. Depending on how tight it is you can hold two screwdrivers, one in each slot and a bar inbetween them to turn it. Not sure if you know what I mean? It works if their not too tight.
