Im looking for someone in Victoria to weld and port my 36HP heads. Anyone have any recommendations?

I was hoping to get some moderately larger P+C's, balance and a larger jet for the 32pci. Heavy valve springs and after that Im not sure...Im told that at 7.5-8:1 compression this will be comfortable at 100klm on the standard split case tranny. Anyone else have an old school speed build story for me?

Thats not very OG mate.

36hp stuff is pretty hard to source now.
I know as i have 3 complete engines,also a twin carb kit solely for the 36 with fram style filter set up.
And you all thought i was all about Fast and Low!
Reckon i might have a set of good uncracked heads if that helps too.

Looks completely standard and anything going in is still OG VW, just want a few more ponies for safe traffic acceleration and highway and fully balanced it will last alot longer than stock too. Id be kidding myself if I wanted a ball tear-er with a 36. If it was it wouldnt last very long. Nope slows ok but I just want to be safe cos this will be my everyday transport. Keep those spare heads handy. From what Ive heard its really easy to stuff up the valves so I may need them, (and a sharp stick for the techy who stuffed up). Cheers

Ok this is from the an old edition of how to hodrod vw engines

its says not to excced a comp ratio of 7.7:1 and not to use big bore kits
it goes on to say that the following bolt on options will provide a good power increase

Extractor system
power pulley
Centrifugal advance distributor
Flycut only 0.020 to 0.040 inch as required for a good sealing surface for cylinder.

You could install most of those while keeping a very stock look
