Wire come off idle solenoid, blocked idle jet, blocked fuel filter, vacuume leak split rubber elbow?
hard to say with out looking at it.

i know dave. have been trying the best i can. tried wire off solenoid, and fuel etc..

just spoke to her about the fuel jets. i she has gone thru the list and checked teh filter. she jsut told me there is some crap in it. so that could be it.

thanks dave.

she is hoping ot make it home this eveneing and then see if she can get something sorted.

Mine wouldn't idle once: had crap in the idle circuit somewhere. She still drove, but was really rough (stuttering) when you were not on the accelerator. On the highway and when accelerating, the idle circuit isn't important, and she drove fine.

Good luck mate.

Rubber elbow coming off the balance tube will make it hard to run.

Also if the ponts have closed and have a bit of crap in them.

hey guys, thanks for your help :)
especially wes, you LEGEND!!

i talked to someone today who said it sounds like a blocked idle jet so i'm gonna have another squiz when i get home tonight (i'm still at work :( ) and see whats goin on

I didn't sleep in the coles carpark. don't think I would have wanted to do that. an angry lil italian man came over to me, stressing the importance of not getting oil on his precious car park, lol!

i caught the train to work today, to be on the safe side, need to catch it back now, but I'm thinkin tomorrow I'll just drive the ole girl and see how she goes (you'll hear from me if she doesn't! lol)

ah volkswagens.... don't ya just love em?
I DO!!! :D

I had the same problem with my car. Turned out to be a blocked idle jet. I took the carby to a carby specialist who cleaned it out for $40. It ran beautifully after that.
