just wondering what teh laws are in reference to fitting windows to panelvans that are now used as campers/peoplecarriers. my camper is a converted panel with 3 windows cut in. unfortunately 2 of those windows are broken (one when i bought the car and the other when i tried to re-fit it. they are a custom size and were double thickness to try to deal with the fact that they had to pull curved metal flat in order to fit. now i am wondering what it will cost to get 2 new double thickness windows custom made (my guess is alot of $$$) and whether there are any other materials i can use? could i legally fit my own perspex windows? it would be cheap and easy for me to cut perspex windows and they would be able to curve to fit the car, but is it legal to use them in a passenger area? any ideas?
anyone know the legalities of using plexiglass/perspex windows in a passenger vehicle?
convertible soft tops have plastic windows.. so i dont see why not.
