Notchback rear engine mount.
Dannyboy - January 30th, 2005 at 09:25 PM

On my notch motor there is a rear mount that bolts up to the body. It's like a donut that slips over the mount and then bolts up to the body. Should the mount be tight ( rubber donut ) around the part of the engine that locates in it. I have had a look and i don't see much wear on it and don't think that i'm missing any parts , nothing left in the parts bin.

Thank you
Dan;)

I'm pretty sure it should have no movement up or down but will have some movement other than that. I think its more of a support than anything.

it will have some movement what u will find is that there is metal shims under where it bolts to the chassis and i think its meant to be centralised by this im not sure just a guess but look in the manual i would say!!
but definately have some movement just more of a support for the engine !
cheers

Hi Danny

If you look what the cylinder parts is held (8mm bolt in die cast alloy) on by you realise that they cant do very much. Just get to be snug without any preload.
