where to get rear wheels aligned
ratbug - January 31st, 2005 at 05:59 PM

Since i've done the irs conversion, the rear wheel alignment has been a bit out because i dont know where to align trailing arm in relation to the spring plates.
Trouble is, can't find any wheel aligners in the maitland/newcastle are who have the ability to change it. The car seems to wonder slightly when one of the rear wheels go over a big bump.

Hi

My guy in Sydney just backed it onto the machine. The last alignment I had I had just fitted 944 spring plates & arms, I fiddled with car when it was in the air until it looked right, when I took it to the aligment shop it was spot on.

mine did it with the same machine. the machine read both front and rear at the same time. so just put it up and adjusted it all. some places i found though if you rang and asked them "can you adjust my rear suspension" tyhey would say now, but ask them if they can cheack it for you nad you may get an answer of yes.

Sorry forgot to mention. i've had it checked.. about 3mm toe-out at the rear, but yeah they wouldnt (said they can't) adjust it.
Might try the suspension place.
Thanks, Andrew.

Hi

They also need to know how to do it, make sure all your nuts are well lubed to make it easier for them. I find the old fashioned shops are usaully the best.
