I blew two air hoses
Queen_Bug - February 22nd, 2005 at 02:51 PM

I blew two of my air hoses without realising it a few weekends back, It wan't until I started hearing rattling noises that I checked it out. That rattling turned out to be my water-shield. I estimate that I did about 8 hours driving with the car that way

Will this have caused any damage to the engine? It was at least 35 degrees on the two days that I drove it with the hoses missing...and one of the loose hoses did start scrubbing against the belt.

Can anyone offer advice? (I have sent it to the mechanic to be looked at, but I would like to anticipate costs if it did cause any bigger problems than just replacement)

(PS. It is a 1640cc engine, don't know that that will make a difference)

Gathering they mean the thing inside some engine lids that attach to the lid that drains water away.
Common round 1970 models
pain in the bum in my opinion. reckon it would restrict air flow

I don't know if it restricts airflow...but I do quite like the look of it.
