M Code
go-slow - February 24th, 2005 at 08:25 PM

Does anyone know what M Code 793 is for?

ratty 63 - February 25th, 2005 at 11:19 AM

...er...nope! My list of M codes doesn't go up that high (numerically). My list goes to 729 for splitties and 663 for Bay windows...

What is the M code from (what vehicle)?

R :)

...just had a look at http://www.type2.com  for a list of M-codes, they acknoledge that m293 does exist, but as yet have not been able to work out what it means....

It's off a '71 Kombi, UK model. The rest of the m codes are easy,
(A41 & 191) but this one has got me stumped. A few guys on the Internet are also looking but they haven't had much luck either.

Yeah me too.

Behind the drivers seat I have the VIN no. plate OK. Having a look at "http://www.type2.com/m-codes/" tells me where the m-code plate should be on my '74. Behind the passenger seat (RHD). Right, but the only thing there is a Dulux sticker that says "Flipper Blue" and the corresponding colour code.

I'm not sure when Clayton stopped building busses, is it perhaps that Aussie vehicles don't have m-plates or something? What's the story folks?

Cheers, A.

What's an M code?

Matt Ryan - April 7th, 2007 at 08:36 AM

shaihulud,

M = Mehrausstattung

I ran the word through Bable fish translator & it said it means "optional extra" in english.

Matt.

Thank you.

Hmm, that's all interesting.

Anyone know about how this applies to Bays? I just got a double door walkthrough early bay, and most of the photos I've seen of double door Bays show the solid cab divider of a panel van, so I was keen to know whether the m-codes would tell me anything.

Cheers, A.

Bump. Never give up!

Try thesamba.com

those freaks know EVERYTHING (and god help you if M793 means it came with optional gingham napkins and you've changed them to a non-original colour of stitching :dork: )

Yeah, I found this:

Apparently we haven't got 'em. :-(
