I have just bought a 2L Auto Kombi
unfortunately the transmission is better than perfect in forward gears BUT reverse has a bad judder , even under light throtle
also weird is if you hold you foot hard on the brake & rev motor
nothing happens (correct) but engine shakes & clatters i& there is a judder if you do the same in reverse. al four of my manuals do not of course mention this symptom in their diagnosis charts

You may find the motor mounts ( or ) the front mount on the trans is busted .

have a good look .

The 2ltr auto is very > very good , but get the auto serviced and clean the strainer out .

found it ! engine was running very rough when I bought it yesterday, valve clearences closed, on 2 cylinders fixed that this morning & everything is sweet as
motor shaking pulled & realeased on accelararior causing the judder, mounts a re probably a bit zorked too
