Anyone out there had to get a kombi plated from carrying 2 people to 4?
I've been told that to be get the vehicle plated to carry passengers in the rock n roll seat/bed I have to get a new seat/bead (at about $1K) so that
it complies with current standards.
The original conversion was done by E Sopru.
Any ideas?
sounds expensive.. $500 a bum
is it worth the outlay?
I hear ya.
I mean, I luv my kids but $500 a kid to hear "are we there yet?" over and over again - you gotta wonder.
wat state r u in
Hey there!
I had a 2-seater bus. I got some original VW seats and clamps. After talking to a few different people at VicRoads, and reading the design
guidelines for seats, I managed to get it done like this.
Put in seats as per original factory specifications, clamps and all. They were like factory options, was my argument.
Got a note from VolksPower in Burwood (thanks guys!) saying that it was indeed all as per original options.
Went to VicRoads and they updated the rego info (for free!)
Cool hey. I'm in Victoria (der!).
If you want more info try searching for 'seat' or something with my username, I think I've mentioned this stuff before. Or just ask here. :-)
Cheers,
Aurel.
I'm in Brisi handycam.
Thanks aggri. I'll have a look for your posts. I'm also wondering if I should just put the seatbelts in the rear and then just go to a few
certifiers and see if I get lucky. One may just look at the seatbelts, go "Yeah they're OK" and plate it for four (probably wishful thinking). But
i'll look into your option.
Cheers.
hey where you from in brissie dude? i went to school with a 'perksy'
I've only been living here for 10 years or so. I went to primary school in Sydney and High School in Canada (80-85).
But my dad was brought up at Holland Park in the 60's.
