im not 100% sure but i think you will have to shave the bell housing a fraction (using dremel or similar) to fit the flywheel in

You will need to grind down the bell housing to enable the flywheel to fit inside - this I know for sure.

I believe that you may have to make other mods to the throw out bearing 'system' but I can't remember.....I will ask my Brother next time I see him as he has run Type IV engines in his bugs (a '67 and a '65 Baja) for years, and has done the mod for other people too.....

What cooling system are you planning on using?
