Short shocks - who sells 'em
65busser - March 28th, 2005 at 09:46 PM

Can anyone recommend any short front shocks to suit an early bug with adjusters?

The best option is to raise the shock towers and use the stock VW shock, short shocks are usually for another type of car (some use Valiant) but they are much too stiff and ride badly.

I agree with Dave...I have pedders on my lowered (with adjusters) beetle and it rides like it's on the bump stops.
You can get different dampering rates but that costs money.

Thanks gents. So has anyone tried the KYB GR2's? Do we know if they too are too stiff?

i just use stockies and they are great

Yeah, I'm beginning to think you're right. I've got stock in mine, but they're old and tired and need replacing. I like the idea of raising the shock towers, but wouldn't know where to start.
I think new stockies might be the go.

Thanks all.

I can raise your towers Brad.
I could also narrow your beam.;)
I also need a carpet kit. LOL

65busser - March 30th, 2005 at 09:38 PM

Mate, that would buy you a nice shag-pile carpet kit.
:D

Seriously though, tell me when you need your carpet done and we'll do some sort of a trade.
