Headlight H4 globes
lauzboy - March 29th, 2005 at 03:55 AM

i have a 71 beetle and want to replace my headlight bulbs

i currently have H4 P45t bulbs (ie full surround on the base) but most places only sell P43t (3 small tabs in around the base)

does anyone know where i can get high output globes in P45t type, or know how to adapt them to fit?

the P43t's dont sit inside the headlight properly

I've had the same problem with my type 3. If you mean high output like Narva plus30 or plus50, they don't make them in P45t, only P43t. Philips don't make a P45t at all, at least they didn't when I last looked.

The only way around this problem is to change your reflectors for those that accept P43t globes.

yeah narva plus50's etc are what im talking about

are reflectors that accept P43t's easy to get a hold of?

the golf mk1 h4 upgrades are the go as they take the standard bulbs but fit in the bug head light bucket
