Is there a table on the Internet somewhere that shows chassis numbers with year and month of manufacture for split buses?

I can find heaps of them for beetles but none for buses.

I have a bus, chassis number : 5507140 , I am trying to find the date of manufacture for.

Hi Mike,
Your Kombi was made between August 1961 and
July 31st 1963

Chassis number 4 010 995 to 5 677 118

so I'm guessing its a 1962 model.....

I found this in A restoration book I have....

I don't know of anything on the Internet...

that is the Vintage Bus site...

You can register Your bus on the site and it goes on from there...

I couldn't actually find anything on chassis numbers, but once You register Yours,
I'm sure there will be a chassis list to verify Your type 2..

Too many or not enough digits?

If its 550714 or 507140 both fall june 59 to dec 59 .

If its 215 507140 its dec 64 to aug 65

Is it a big back window or small,
if small its the first one Rob mentioned.
If its large its the later one.
Big back window came in the last few months of 63, for the 64 year model.
