i have a problem with the throttle when im mid-corner. at about the apex where u want to start pressing the throttle, i get a momentary cut out. it
seems worse turning left than right but i could be wrong. rest of the corner is usually fine just that initial stalling is really annoying
i was thinking it might have something to do with be oil surge, fuel surge (unlikely) or my dif
has anyone else has had this sorta problem and what is it
btw this is for a my '71 beetle, street use not racing
What kind of carby setup are you running?
It would be some kind of fuel supply problem. DCN and DCNF webers are particularly prone to this. If you have a standard carby, then maybe float level
is something to have checked.
I have the same prob with an efi engine when it has low tank.
Is your prob all the time, or only with low tank?
Check your tank, make sure there is nothing obstructing flow.
Could be electric/ignition - battery terminals loose, wire on dissy loose causing a momentary short etc etc
We had this problem and it turned out to be a boot for the pre-heater area was split if I remember rightly.

yeah ive heard of numerous issues like this when it was a loose wire from the coil, or an old damaged wire shorting out through the insulation as the car cornered as the wire would swing over and touch the body... maybe that?
was happening when i had a stock carby, and is still doing it now i have a progressive weber (DFEV)
occurs regadless of fuel level
skeptical about the shorting out idea but could be a possibility
thanks all. anymore ideas?
More likely than the carby problem... when you think about it!
:duh
i think anthiron from here had the same problem with his bug. u2u him and check. im pretty sure it ended up being a loose wire... maybe im dreamin though..
heres a new one for yas:
older batteries have a sludge residue and it can cause an internal current drop if the sludge meets a corner. low current can be queched by excess
fuel (ie you accellerate in the apex of the corner = excess fuel = dah !!!
Is your battery olde and sludgey ?? could rinse it out
refill with the acid and give it a whirl
