Driving my bus home from PMGBUS's house in the hills and when I got a couple of k's from home I noticed a funny smell, a bit like sulpher, as though
I had a catalytic converter.
What is this smell.
It definatly came from in the engine bay,
Anyone have any ideas.
It also happened the lasrt time I drove it a couple of days ago.
Its got new oil about 250ks ago.at the same time the valves were also done.
Only started to smell the last couple of days, and it seems to happen after a run for an hour.?????
Cheers

Could be the coil. If you run a coil that is meant to have a dropping resistor without a resistor it will over charge. They smell like sulphur when
they are getting over charged.
Or it could be your voltage regulator overcharging the battery. Check the charging voltage of your system.
I am using a new GT coil.New 009, New battery etc,
I will check the battery.

Would it be the coil as I have done about 1500kms on it and the smell has only started the past couple of days???

not leaking but bubbling???
Spook spotted this (or similar) smell thing a while ago.
Apparently the batteries in busses have been know too explode and spray hydo chloro every where.
Just do us a fav an have a smell around your battery
Would HATE to hear there was an acid rain :thumb
i was charging a battery with 3 dry cells, made a really strong smell, killed the battery
Problem solved.
It was the regulator.
It had packed in and was giving over 18volts to the battery while driving.
Fitted a new one $35 and its running great.
