I haven't had much experience in Kombis, but I was imagining what it would be like to turn a Kombi bus/van into a convertible. By all means, you
would need engineers approval, couple of roll bars etc. (I think), but is it technically applicable to do so?
After hearing news that buggies are apparently a dead market, and that so far the NSW RTA have made it impossible for kit cars (like buggies) to be
registered if never registered before (ie: new ones), I am searching for a new project/mod to do to a car so I can atleast have the potential to drive
in on a road. Hence why I have asked this question.
I do live in queensland however, but if I spend heaps of $$$ on a buggy, and find out i can't register it, I'm screwed!!!
Hence why im not sure of taking the risk.:duh

looks like it. Yer the amount of work to turn one into a convertible would be immense. And you end up with a chopped up car.
Oh and go easy on the caps lock

and its been done..... thats for sure
cool.
Yeah, that is a reall b1tch when it comes to registering. Stupid road rules, im sure there must be a way that the RTA and the road users can get
along.
I was thinking of building a buggy, but after hearing about the RTA making it harder to register, im not sure if i really want to do it anymore. What
a fat piece of crap.
oh well.:cry
they think there trying to keep you alive...........and yet they register motorbikes!
i tell you what, you make one of these baja kombis and get it licenced and then tell us how you did it. i will then rush out and buy a cheap rust
kombi and do it too.
