wrx conversion
southsidebugs - April 26th, 2005 at 11:13 PM

ok, i'm new here and i was just wondering how hard it would be to do a wrx conversion on a type 1 super. i found a complete engine on ebay for this conversion for $900. i was just wondering how hard it would be and what all is needed for the conversion.:vader

i may not be able to give the most detail as i have not carried out the conversion

but i will give a few things.

1) BIG BRAKE UPGRADE (very important unless you want to crash).

2), suspension upgrade

3)transmission (some may argue this point)

4), cut out the spare wheel well in front of bug, and replace with radiator of your choice.

5)fit engine (required cutting the firewall, making up engine mounts, buying adaptor plates .etc (quite a big task).

6). throttle control so the front wheels dont lift at every set of lights :)

Seagull in West Aust sell adapter plates.
