seats in late and early?

i just baught some sports seats for the bug, and was going to take the runners off the super beetle seats and weld to the newbies. was wandering if these runners will fit early beetles aswell or are they different?

just get the bases of an early model and weld them on instead

wanted to put them in the super im doing now, then into the 60's i plan on getting later
