Today when I reinstalled the speedometer, it's now lagging and responding very slowly. Any ideas what could be causing this?
lube the cable
I sprayed grease from the top of the cable and it's seemed to improve a bit
but still not good.
This happened after the speedo needle broke in half so I used a heatshrink to fix it "rubber glove" style. how does one lube the cable?
Hi
The speedo needle needs to a specific weight for the spring in speedo to work, your is probably to heavy now. Take to an instrument guy to have it
fixed or buy another one.
Steve
thanks steve
thing seems to have fixed itself! I don't understand cars... they got a mind of their own
ok the bloody thing's doing it again!
if i tap on the speedo then it'll go to the correct speed. seems like something's holding it back... any ideas guys?
Drive faster..:thumb
try otto instruments on evans roads. he re did my speedo, and its like new.
hi bix
how much damage was that for the wallet if you dont mind me asking?
I think mine had a few busted teeth so he made some new cogs and clenaed and rebuilt etc. I think about $100, that was about 2 years ago. It will
depend on exactly what he does, eg just a strip rebuild and lube with a new needle may be cheaper?
Your a member of CAQ arn't you? why weren't you at the nav run last friday night?
hopefully it'll be cheaper, or maybe it'll just fix itself like it did last time
yeah how was the nav run? I really wanted to do it but was caught up with uni assignments!
Well you better get your self into gear as u missed out on a good night, and at the next few events, CAQ needs to get a good turn out as the VW club
ain't that good on bitumen. Whats ur email ? ill add you to the mail out for the inteclub challenge.
The night run was pretty tough, we got 4th form 8, so that was good, keeps our 3rd place overall
just need a good showing at the qld challenge in july.
Thanks mate I'll try to make the next few events
been too busy trying to pass my subjects at unI!
