Just wondering if it's all hype or these are actually worth considering for my late bug.
in one word yes mate but make sure you get the ones that take the normal h4 base not the 43t base. they make night into day especially use the narva +50s
I have used H4 Hella sealed & semi sealed beam headlamps since the 70's....
Now they are even better as Narva & Hella both have New High Output Bulbs using Xenon gas which is 50% Brighter on Low beam and 30% brighter on
High beam.....
Narva PLUS 50 H4 headlamp bulbs can be fitted to original VW headlamps if You can find them....
I have always changed to Hella H4 headlamps with the standard fitment ie P43t Bulbs..
VWs use the European Equivalent bulb...
VWs did change over to the common bulb sometime in the 70s... 1303S & 76 Beetles had the standard bulbs [P43t]
I always replace the original headlamps with new Hella semi sealed beams and then put these Narva Xenon Plus 50 Bulbs in.. Presto.....
Now You can really see,,,,,,
Most VW aftermarket people can sell You new headlamps very cheaply, then fit the new Xenon Plus 50 Bulbs,,,,
These Bulbs use the same Power as the original...
so No relays need to be fitted etc... 12v 60/55w

you can now get a h4 headlight with the h3 driving lamp in the bottom:thumb
hey pod who has them in oz mate
lee down at Volkshaven theres a pic of them in vwma on pg 10
cool mate i wasnt sure who had them
not registered yet. but my ute has then fitted, and straight away i can see that they are better than my bus. now my lady wants em too...
So what actually has to be replaced/modified to fit H4's and rough idea on costs (apart from the bulbs)
Cheers
SAS
you replace the reflector and lens with a semi sealed unit, which screws in on the fitting already there
Yeah I was looking at some with driving lights on some US sites. Anyone know how much they're worth over here?
