On an early beetle, I have flared fibreglass rear guards and a set of wide 5 14 inch steelies. 7 inch and 8 inch . They were cheap so I have done
them up and want to use em.
What tyres will still fit and not rub on anything ever?
Will this look silly on not yet lowered suspension? What is the go with getting that low, lean, mean look?
I like the idea of silly wide rear rubber if it's feasible.
Your car.
Your look.
You do wht you want.
Some ppl like like bike tyres on slammed dubs. Some like fat fat tyres on slammed dubs. Some like fat tyres on jacked up bajas. No one(except insane
or purists) really like any dub on stilts - skinny tyres or fats... I have thin cross-plys on the front and 225/60/15's on the rear.. It cured my
oversteering problems, that's for sure!
If they were my rims ide take em too a tyre place and have em checked to see if they run true first,i think they need an adaptor to mount them on there balancer but im not sure bout that, luck dude.
just whack one on your car. jack it up and spin the wheel to check if they wobble reall bad. its hard to get widend wheels perfect.
if they are for the rear. well ive got 235's on the rear of my baja. they are bridgestone eagers 235/60 r14 (temporary. i got a nail in one of my
31's and havent goten it fixed yet) and they would fit under widend stock guards easily.
as for the front. i wouldnt bother about anything wider than 185 on a stock bug if u dont want to rub and want to still be able to turn the steering
wheel.
