Trying to decide between getting a new lowered eraly beam or cut and weld a late framehead to allow use of the late (ball joint) lowered beam I
already have...
Any suggestions?
I want discs up front so there's an easy reason for the ball joint front end, and as I said I already have one of those.
Will be for street use and pretty low.

I would weld the new bulkhead onto the chassis and use the Ball joint front end... at least you can adjust the camber with this type.
You wont have to buy an adaptor kit either, so you can fit the discs. Only problem is you have to find a good bulkhead and some one to weld it on
for you.
I have the good framehead from a '70 pan, have the good adjustable ball joint beam and discs and also the person to weld it and have the
engineeer approve it....
has anyone seen how well ball joints stand up when exposed to the weather?
Mine are fine! On both the notch and the bug! Bug is of the pan at the moment, but all front end looks really good, even after being in the whether for a while!
I agree with unity. They're kind of exposed to the weather anyway and as long as your rubber boots on them are in good condition then you
won't have any hassles,

Well they aren't protected from the bottom but these also won't have any sheet metal above them.... A bit concerned about the effect of the
sun on the rubbers....
should'nt be a prob dude, they would get up that much friction moving about anyway sunlight would be nothing in comparison. If you're really
concerned just keep them maintained with some talcom powder.
