Anybody know what is the difference between tall and short inlet manifolds for twin carbs????
Tall mainfolds give you better Torque
Ultimately, in the rareified atmosphere of high-tech racing design, that may be the case but realistically, in the world of everyday low-tech krauts,
the length of the manifold sets how high the carbies actually sit in the engine bay!!
Nothing more sinister than that!

I added 6" to the length of my intake runner and the engine picked up 20ftlbs at 4000rpm....racing engine though.
Short manifolds dont look as cool and generally move the torque peak higher in the rev range.
In the end tassupervee is right, do what fits best!

yer M8, quite right. The gains to be had are also very dependant on a whole lot of factors including the correct exhaust system.
Strictly speaking, the exhaust should be designed with the inlet runner length as a variable and so-on and so-on.......my head hurts!!!!
