TURBONATOR
saxsed - September 5th, 2005 at 05:05 PM

Has anyone bought one? Do they work A $70 turbo sounds interesting.

sounds like a rip off to me...similar to those "electric superchargers" which as we all know do not make ANY extra power of any sort.

feel free to correct me anyone.

isnt it just a peice of plastic that starts tuning the air before the turbo

i think its meant to spin the air before or after the throttle bodie or carborator to increase the burn in the chamber because it is more evenly spread by the spiral affect...

is this just the same as a hyclone? havent heard anything but comments about them being a waste of money.

great way of restricting air flow

Introducing "Swirl" may help in some cases. I think thats what they claim it does.

i guess that it would theoritically help but it would be more pronounced of higher cc engines becuase more fuel therfore if air is mixed through it then migh combust fully.

what does the electronic supercharger do, i can see that if it was like an amp or second altinator that would increase the voltage output of the engine then it may cause a greater spark from the plugs which we all know is good. but apart from that , can't see how it works.

there ya go bajaben..have fun reading :)

as you can see wes in that thread clearly explains why it is rediculous.

i understand how the spinning air might help with the burn. but wouldnt it be blocking airflow making less air to burn? :S

With wonderful and glowing claims from the makers of such gizmos, its alway worth bearing in mind the old adage:
If it sounds too good to be true.....then it probably is!
