what model does the w deck lid finish at ,any ideas on this,

the decklid was on all oval window and split window beetles. Since we never officially got split windows its 1954-1957 on beetles

my 56 has a later deck lid ,i was not sure mine must have been damaged years ago as it has a later deck lid ,but i got one with the car so thats a releif keep up the good info guys

"W" deck lids are bringing BIG money these days as the supplies dwindle with time.... and accidents... It May be safer to leave it in the shed and only use it on Sundays.... the "W" decklid that is....:thumb

I thought they were on the early big windows too.

The W engine lids were different for e54 and early 55 to late 55, 56 n 57.

The spring attach plate area was different as was the spring.

The W engine lid was only on the Oval and Split windows... not the BIG window,
