Hi fellow vee dubbers, would like to know is anyone could help me figure out why when after driving for about 30 mins the accelerator gets jammed and wont let me press it down, then after giving it a 45 min break it works fine again. Now it idils to high. Seems to me that the cable is getting stuck on something, where the cable comes out at the carby it is really squeeky and you have to push it is to stop towards that zig zag thingy to stop it reving. can someone help. Its only just started doing this as only just been serviced (73 beelte)
If you haven't had any luck with this yet, u2u me and we can meet up, I'll take a look at it for you..
Doesn't sound like anything too serious..(Unless you're heading towards a cross walk that's crowded with school kids and it jams on then..)..
I have had one catch on the rear of the fan housing before, where the cable passes through before getting to the carb, but it would get stuck throttle
open, not closed? Do you have the tube that guides the cable through the fan housing in place?
Does it do it every time, or just sometimes.
Is something heating up and expanding and catching it, cooling down after 45 mins and not catching it any more?
The pin the peddle hinges on sometimes slides out and screws things up.
When it happens go around and see if the linkage moves
It could also be loos peddle assembly and it is catching on the passenger side
