frothy gunk

In the engine, I open the cap where you put teh oil in and its all frothy and light in colour.
Is this a sign of something bad?:(

either water in the oil (soap part of the oil froathing) or could be "out of date" oil or overheated!
just dump it try and get most out by draining then fill it back up (not to sure bout that step)

Yes, sounds like water (moisture) in the oil.
Do you do a lot of short trips or does the car sit a lot? Short trips will heat the block up and draw moist air back in as it cools. It also doesn't get the oil hot for long enough to get rid of the moisture.

Mine had the same problem,frothy white crap and sludge and some water,30minutes on a freeway will burn up all the water and flush most of the sludge,then do an oil change.If you do a lot of short trips like i do then do a freeway run once a month.:)
