Rear seat/electrics question
sponger - October 20th, 2005 at 09:04 PM

Im considering buying a 75 kombi with a poor rear conversion - has no rear seats but a permanent bed, and no auxiliary power setup! How much would it be to put in a the standard rear seat which converts to a bed (like the standard kombi conversion). Also, it has no auxiliary power supply, so how much would that cost to put in, with power points for standard rear lights and fridge etc etc.

When you say auxliary power, do you mean a dual battery system? My sister just had a dual battery system installed in a Toyots Hilux, $900.00. This included a deep cycle battery, battery tray, isolator switch, wiring, two plugs and installation labour.
Or do you mean the type of system where you plug the kombi into a 240V power point and use that to run everything.

Yup, I do mean the dual battery system, and that sounds expensive, thanks for the info! Any of you guys know whats the score with the rear seat? I have rang on operator and they seemed to think Id have to start looking at wreckers – anyone know any better? Again Im in Melbourne, so no point in telling me where to get them out of state!
