I know I posted in the off road section but i guess this is more of a general question;
Can any bug gurus tell me if this bug is a superbug from the outside? Im told its either a 71 or 72 ...
Any help would be awsome!! :thumb
the easiest way to tell a sbug is look under the front guards if you see struts and coils its a super. other than that it looks like about the right age but i could not say yeah or nay from those pics because of the bumpers
OK no worries. Thanks for your help.
I guess ill just head out and check, but even if it is a super i think ill still end up trying to baja-fy it.
Thanks again!! :thumb:
what barls said.
but dude if its a super dont bother bajaing it. either enjoy it for what it is or sell it on and buy a torsion bar bug.
u will have more hassles than its worth.
no baja kits were made for supers that i know off.
cutting the guards back copuld give u a similar effect but u would have to then widen them to cover wide wheels.
the front struts are anchored to the body and so this causes major stress on the surrounging area on body when offroad NOT GOOD.
for the price u could sell that u would pick up a nice torsion bar bug just waiting to be taken to with the angle grinder
Yeah i realise that, but here in rural NT there is an EXTREMLY limited supply of bugs... super or not. Im already paying more for this than its truely
worth but what the hell...
Of course, i could make it out there and find that its a perfectly ok non-super bug.
freight isnt that much really.
get one from QLD and drive it back or freight it.
worth it in the long run.
also theres nothing u could really do to shorten the nose on a super.
all in all its not a super idea (pun intended)
looking at the shape of the bonnet i would say its a super
^ Yup that's what I was thinking. Looks a little wider at the bottom.
