should be orig belts (inertia for reg but the mechanic may not notice .if he does you have 2 weeks to correct it.
Seal the holes so not obvious and its neat even if u use no mre gaps and clr match it.

If an engineer is looking at it the check will be thorough. Then there is an insurance questiion. ie . will the insurance pay up (incl 3 party injury) if belts are of a lesser performance standard.
Inertia -when A1 cond'n are safer due to auto adjutment.

Yep i understand that...and have plans to eventually get some through out the whole car...front and back...but right now need car on road so originals go back. And yes...will get rego changed to shwo inertias were put in 9as well as necessary engineers cert)

But having seen the other inertias, knew there was no way of it getting passed at this point (they were mismatched and no adr noted on them)as well as it had no additional plates/support welded to it. Nothing against previous owner, but going over pits means it had to be sorted for rta here to be happy.

I heard they love vws and inertia belts for some reason. Originals seem to pass easier...i think the beef is more about engineers certs etc

Spoke to insurance, and they said would pay based on its rego. That is, if it has originals in when regod...have to be there when accident occurs. If inertias in at tiem of rego, they have to be in at time of accident.

Thing was, i forgot to check with mechanic about the extra hole when discussing the seat belts. (doh!)

If all else fails, can ask him tomorrow I guess.
