I got a 1965 VW Beetle with a 1641cc engine (110 Engel camshaft etc.). Also with anti-sway bars front and back. lowered front... 12 volt conversion...
Just thinking what else to do to improve it. Someone suggested installing a camber compensator. Just wondering whether anyone sells them here in
Victoria? Otherwise I;d buy it online.
Its supposed to be for the rear... but I already have a rear anti-sway bar. Any comments?

I read somewhere that generic anti-sway bars should not be used on swing axled rear suspensions.
VW made a "Z" bar for the later swingers and these can be made to work well.
I'll try and find the article.
Camber compensators, on the other hand, are great. I had one on my beetle before the rebiuld and the improvement was nothing short of outstanding.
I have one that I'm looking at selling hasn't been on the car very long, I found it excellent - still doesn't make a swing axle handle like a
ferrari but I found it improved it.
Can take a photo tomorrow if you are interested. U2U me.

P.S Oh yeah - reason for sale I am getting the KG converted to IRS.
Yeah I'm interested. How much are you selling it for- and are you in Melbourne?

the compensator is probably better but here is a z-bar diag

Anyone go any pics installed in a car???

from the wreckers, but it may be difficult to pull out and difficult to install as it goes over the gearbox. my '67 fasty had one. unlike the aftermarket camber compensators, the z-bar stiffens the suspension and makes a bumpier ride.
what sort/brand of sway bar are you running?
where does it mount to the axles, shock bolt or spring plate?
