Scored a set of pop outs for the 1303 today.
One of the windows is dirty.
Nah.... i mean REAL DIRTY......
I have cleaned it with a razor blade with a coulpe mm of metho swishing round. I have 98% of the gunk off.
Its just the outside glass sort of has a permanent "turtle shell" that is only visable in reflective light.
Any ideas how to finish the cleaning properly??
Try toothpaste (no joke)
Ok - they are the sort of answers i am after
Left wing thinking
Thanks Sten
try making a paste out of bi carb soda and water. rub adub dub nad rinse off...
There is a product by Auto Glym called glass polish, about $13 a bottle. It might be worth giving it a try, it's a bloody good glass cleaner even if it doesn't fix your problem.
Barry could you use sulphuric acid? Doesnt harm glass lab bottles but should eat any scum. Mitchl `
Try rubbing alcohol too Barry.
i know they dont sell it any more but bon amy works really well
Try calling Dave Ellis from WAX IT! He sponsors the forum and has all sorts of terrific cleaning products!
ive heard newspaper and prepsol brings glass up nice but dunno if it will in ur case...

Maybe good ol' white vinegar? Is great for cleaning glass, not sure if it'll remove scum.
Well it has been pouring ALL day - so i have been playing.
Been giving them a good polish with Auto Sol and tooth paste and metho.
Pretty happy.
One window still has slight marks, but i am being REALLY picky
The wife is making me put them away till Christmas now - but at least they are clean enough to put under the tree.
Thanks for the tips
Hi
I had residue after removing tint, the Pro Mar waterless car wash worked wonders.
Steve
try prepsol on the paint on ur window knobs or plain brake fluid and hose off.
