does anyone know what clutch and pressure plate i will need to fit to a 12v flywheel so it will go in my splitter gearbox?[btw it has beenclearanced!]
cheers josh
Well its either 180 or 200 mm size.
But it depends on what engine and more so crankshaft you have fitted.
Is it a later 1600 type crank that has the oil seal O ring.
the engine is a tp 1600 out of an 'l' bug!so a standard 1600 crank i would imagine!can you simply change or replace the throw out bearing
with something compatable to a 1600 engine? as the engine has clutch, pressure plate and flywheel fitted at the moment?

i'd imagine that you could fit the early style 200mm clutch. assuming that u r using the swing axle tranny with the older style throw out bearing.
What about a HD clutch and p/plate to suit a warmish 1915 any suggestions ?.
If you're saying the bell-housing has been clearanced - you use the 200 mm flywheel with an adaptor bushing for the starter (pressed into the engine case - or use an auto starter.) In other words, use the flywheel and clutch that came with the motor. I actually like the carbon throw-out bearing myself, 'though the ball-bearing type is known to last longer. Whatever is in your tranny should be fine - as long as it's in good condition. The auto starter can be hard to find, but provides more torque and lasts longer than the 6V (and doesn't need the adaptor bushing.)

So you have the O Ring flywheel you can get a 200 or 180 mm flywheel these are interchangable.. I would get the 200mm fly wheel if you can find
one.
You have the gearbox clearanced so it wont rub on the ring gear...
A Auto starter would solve the bush problem. You can get a 200 mm pressure plate that fits up to a stock thrust race like on the kombi gearbox
a multi finger type diaphram pressure plate would be softer on your foot rather than a 3 finger type.
when you say 'auto starter' are you refering to a starter from an auto kombi?
