Gasket goo

Does anybody use gasket goo when putting the pushrod tubes back in and all the other bits on a T4 motor, oil cooler, etc. What is the wire which comes from the bellhouse area of the crankcase which has a sensor aimed at the flywheel for?

sensor is one of those diagnostic thing-a-ma-jigs and is not needed.

Me - personally i believe in dry and clean for push rod seals

I agree Type 4 are a pain in the arse. Might be easier to change but a pain.

I just found #1 always wanted to drip a bit

I cleaned with prepsol, I cleaned with prepsol, I cleaned with prepsol, I cleaned with prepsol, I cleaned with prepsol, I cleaned with prepsol, I cleaned with prepsol, I cleaned with prepsol,

There was the slightest of dirt bur there and i finally cleaned it away and now no more leaks there.

I do here of some people using "curil" but i wouldnt go there - specially on the type 4. Rechon trying to get one of thos O rings out that has stuck in would be a reigh pain.

Make sure you have good quality O rings aas well
